Couple Counselling & Medicare Rebate
There is a growing trend of clients in counselling under the
Mental Health Medicare items with little opportunity to address the
relational context of their depression. Interpersonal therapy is an
excellent option for those clients whose relationship issues largely
contribute to their mental health deterioration. It is
recommended that doctors create individual GP mental health care plans
for couples with relationship issues which present itself through
mental health issues in either or both partners.
