Medicare Rebates for Counselling

Glen Eira Counselling accepts Medicare Rebates, TAC, Work Safe, Carers Vic, Employment assistance referrals. Please contact the office directly to make an appointment and to discuss reasonable fees and session outline.   On 1 November, 2006, the Australian Government introduced counselling Medicare rebates for people with mental health conditions. These conditions include anxiety disorders, depression and stress etc.

Individuals who are being managed by a GP under a GP Mental Health Care Plan or on direct referral by a psychiatrist, or for children on referral from a paediatrician, are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate for up to 12 sessions (per calendar year) with a mental health social worker.
